a five year milestone

A Reflection

April marks five years of my small business. When I started out with freelancing, I felt a million different emotions. I wondered, a lot, if what I was doing was going to fail. I didn’t have many things figured out but I did want something different to help enable a vision I had for myself. And, I had a tiny voice saying “Bet on yourself.” (It was my voice ;))

Here’s what I envisioned and why: “In five years, if my parents need me, I want to be able to help them while also financially contributing to my household.”

That’s why I got started. I knew that if the day arrived that my parents needed additional support, I wanted to be able to choose them while also working. Not either/or but yes/and. And, so it began.
